Puppy Information
We specialize in total dedication to the health and care of all our dogs and puppies.
Your puppy may be nervous when delivered to you.
He/she is no longer experiencing familiar sounds and smells.
This experience will pass shortly.
Nervousness or change of diet may cause diarrhea.
We strongly recommend and insist that you will continue feeding the feed we have weaned your puppy with food.
We send a baggie of feed with the puppy.
It also helps in house breaking, stools are firm, and easy to clean up, so there is no trace for puppy to smell and go back to.
symptoms and signs to be aware of-
Cocidia: Bright red blood mixed in with stool.
Generally is the case with Cocidia.
The blood may also be due to broken blood vessels when puppy defecates.
As a preventative, we orally administer Albon.
We will administer albon 10 days prior to puppy shipping.
By doing this we have never came across a problem.
Albon is for the treatment of sulfadimethoxine-sensitive bacteria infections in dogs and bacterial enteritis associated with coccidiosis in dogs.
Albon coats the puppies stomach as pepto bismol does for a child. During a stressful time such as being weaned from momma, learning to eat on his/her own, new housing, vaccinations, and travel, change in climate is when you may notice above mentioned cocidia.
It is only common sense to give you new puppy rest time.
During the first two weeks of getting the puppy home, give the puppy a little time to rest each and every day. They NEED "Time out"daily and sometimes you have to make it so!!
If you have small children wanting to play with your new addition, you must teach them that the puppy needs time to itself, and rest as an infant does.
Always have feed/water available 24/7 for your puppy.
Your puppy is fragile, and must be treated like a baby for a few months. Being rough with him/her should be avoided.
Caution should be taken when you take him/her outside.
Keep him/her away public places where other dogs have defecate.
Hypoglycemia occurs in small breeds.
Symptoms of Hypoglycemia are: white gums, rolled up eyes, inability to stand up straight and seizures. Small breeds can get Hypoglycemia overnight. They are very fragile, and can get very sick if they do not eat. NEVER restrict food, so that puppy will receive a steady stream of nutrients. Hypoglycemia occurs when puppies get stressed out and their blood sugar level drops below normal. A dose of
Nutri-Cal, Nutri-Stat, honey or Karo syrup will put the blood sugar level close to normal, keep puppy bundled up and warm. He/she should come around within 10-15 minutes. We strongly suggest you as the new owners of the puppy to purchase a tube of nutrical from any pet store. We expect the new owners of the puppy to follow our recommendations to give your puppy a good dose in the morning, and a good dose at night to prevent tragedy. This will make sure your puppy is getting the needed sugar and nutrients. This should be continued for at least 2 weeks, until puppy is well adjusted. Also having a small confined crate is recommended so puppy cannot travel throughout the home while you are away, or asleep, and end up getting lost, or not being able to find his food/water, or getting into something dangerous.
Dogs could stand to shed a few Concerns about corpulent curs and portly pooches have seized popular imagination, not to mention the marketplace. At $2 a daily dose, Slentrol, manufactured by Pfizer and the world's first prescription weight-control drug for dogs, now has the Food and Drug Administration's blessing for use by the nation's 17 million fat dogs, or nearly 30 percent of the canine population.
A second medication -- R-salbutamol -- is under development in Australia. Dogs down under are losing weight, though having some flushing of the ears, said lead researcher Calvin London, a veterinarian. The potential canine weight loss market in the U.S. alone is $200 million a year, he said.
But why stop with dog diet pills?
Pfizer announced yesterday that it had developed something called BARC, or body assessment rating for canines, -- a lifestyle survey for dog and master to take, presumably together. Orlando Fringe Festival Enjoys Record Setting Year Musicians, comedians, actors and exhibitionists from across the globe took the stage for the most successful Orlando Fringe Festival in its sixteen-year history. From May 17-28, the nation's oldest Fringe Festival sold more than 28,000 tickets, an increase of 21 percent over 2006. Additionally, the 5,000 artists making up the 77 national and international performing groups, KIDS FRINGE, PET FRINGE, VISUAL FRINGE and Outdoor Stage, took home more than $200,000, 65 percent more than last year. Pet insurance may be necessary during summer months Animal lovers in the UK are being encouraged to take out sufficient cover to protect their pet from the problems which might occur in the summer months.
According to Tesco Personal Finance, the number of pet insurance claims is likely to rise during the summer months.
The group estimates that the number of claims rose by six per cent during May and June 2006, potentially caused by the stiflingly hot early summer weather.
With consumers more likely to take their pet outdoors in the summer, pets may have a greater chance of being involved in road traffic accidents or even getting sunburnt, Monica McCormack, a spokesperson for Tesco Personal Finance said.
Ms McCormack said: "We really see an instance of higher claims when the sunny weather comes in and people are outside more with their dogs. ge.
